Religious doctrine form an integral part of fundamental human rights to freedom of thought, conscience and religious belief, an international legal principle upheld and recognised in article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ( ICCPR). Commonwealth of Australia is a party to seven core international human rights treaties recognising article 18 of ICCPR that complements domestic law.
